Welcome back to MediaDev Insider, GFMD’s roundup of major policy news and initiatives from the world of media development and journalism support.

We haven’t been sending this newsletter regularly this year while we have been focusing on delivering on some key projects and initiatives. But we are now back for good.

This month’s good news: GFMD has joined countless others in welcoming UNESCO’s adoption of the Windhoek+30 Declaration on Information as a Public Good on November 18, 2021, and calls for its urgent implementation.

⚠️ This month’s bad news: 87% impunity rate for perpetrators of journalist killings that took place between 2006 and 2020.

In this newsletter you will find:
📌 News of upcoming learning meetings from our International Media Policy and Advisory Centre - GFMD IMPACT.
📈 Updates from Bottom Line - our new communications channel dedicated to MediaDev and journalism fundraising
⚖️ How to get involved in our latest policy and advocacy initiatives, including a webinar on developing principles for effective media development on Tuesday 7 December.
📊 Insights and analysis from the Journalism Funder’s Forum

If you like this newsletter, please forward it to colleagues you think will find it useful. If this was forwarded to you, please subscribe here.

⏳This newsletter is just over 900 words and takes less than 5 minutes to read.

ℹ️ Concept note / webinar description

What? This time next week GFMD is partnering with the Centre for International Media Assistance (CIMA) to organise a webinar to discuss the
