U.S. EMBASSY OPENS YOUTH JOURNALISM DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROGRAM IN GEORGIA

Grant The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia is pleased to announce an open competition for the Youth Journalism Development Program to train at least 75 high school and college-aged youth in ethnic Azerbaijani and Armenian populated regions of Georgia.

Grant The European Union (EU) is seeking proposals for European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) Country Based Support Scheme (CBSS) for Kyrgyzstan programme. The EIDHR is designed to help civil society to become an effective force for democracy and defence of human rights. Next to the programmes that the European Union runs on a global level, it also puts in place a “Country Based Support Scheme” (CBSS) on a country level, under which calls for proposals are designed in order to support and strengthen civil society organizations and human rights defenders promoting and defending human rights and democracy.

Award Applications are now open for the Global Youth & News Media Prize for excellence in pandemic news for children. This year’s Global Youth & News Media Prize aims to honour news producers who have excelled in developing news to explain important issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic to children (up to age 12) on any platform.

Grant The European Union (EU) has launched a call for applications for the Innovative Media for Peace, Social Cohesion and Reconciliation in Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa. The global objective of this call for applications is to promote peace in the digital space and enhance resilience of conflict-affected and fragile societies to media harmful content in Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, West Bank and Gaza Strip and Yemen.

USAID’S BMAP 3RD MEDIA INNOVATION LAB: REPORTING ETHICALLY DURING A PANDEMIC

Grant The Media Innovation Lab will gather lead experts in the field and provide different perspectives, teach new skills, and inspire participants to tackle new challenges! On the last day, participants will present their projects to a jury for a chance to receive seed funding of up to $5,000 USD to further develop their prototypes and ideas after the event into full-fledged tools and projects that can be rolled out for use by media across the region.

Grant The Livingston Awards invites print, online, video, audio and data visualization entries. Prizes of $10,000 will be presented in three categories: local, national and international reporting. There is no entry fee. Prize money is paid directly to the journalists, not the media organization.
