GFMD both contributed to and endorsed a civil society statement in response to the Christchurch Call, and also had the opportunity to meet with PM Ardern on 14 May to voice concerns and offer perspective from the media development community.
As part of our continued advocacy on media sustainability, digital markets, and business models, GFMD is co-organising a workshop at RightsCon Tunis with the U.S.-based advocacy organisation Free Press. The session will address the wider impact of the digital economy on democratic societies.

GFMD team attended the 13th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Paris, from 12-14 November. The IGF an event held under the auspices of the United Nations. We have co-organised the second edition of the working group on media development and Internet governance, as well as launched an issue paper that explores intersections between media development and Internet governance.
