Grant Internews Iraq in one of its Project Our Voices, is proving emergency grants to assist women journalists in emergency or unexpected crises events that significantly impact individuals’ operations, security, or financial sustainability. The grant range includes; legal aid counter threats of imprisonment in extreme cases, psychological and medical care for incidents directly related to threats and crises caused by one’s work as a journalist.

Grant Journalists, researchers and activists whose work focuses on Arab societies can apply for this program. Funded by the Ford Foundation and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS) is accepting submissions for its grants program on the theme of “Health and livelihoods in the Arab region: wellbeing, vulnerability and conflict.”

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC COVID-19 EMERGENCY FUND FOR JOURNALISTS

Grant The National Geographic Society is launching an emergency fund for journalists all over the world who wish to cover COVID-19 within their own communities. This fund will place particular emphasis on delivering news to underserved populations, particularly where there is a dearth of evidence-based information getting to those who need it.

To alleviate this, several companies and organisations are committing to financially support journalism and news media.

FUND TO SUPPORT LEBANON’S NEWS INDUSTRY

The Facebook Journalism Project, in collaboration with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), has announced that it will invest $300,000 in a new program that aims to support the stabilisation and recovery needs of journalists and news organisations in Lebanon affected by the tragic explosion in Beirut on August 4.
