Today, Ranking Digital Rights (RDR) launched their 2019 Corporate Accountability Index. The Index evaluated 24 of the world’s most powerful internet, mobile, and telecommunications companies on their commitments affecting freedom of expression and privacy of internet users around the world. It was found that most companies have taken steps to improve, but they have a long way to go before the Internet supports and sustains human rights for everyone. Read the full report here to view full details of the methodology, research process, and the scoring and ranking of the telecommunications companies in question.
GFMD participated in consultations with RDR, and offered our feedback about new indicators used in this year’s report.
