PROPUBLICA TO EXPAND LOCAL REPORTING NETWORK
Deadline 14 September 2018 | Reporters who focus on local, state politics are crucial to holding elected officials accountable, but the number of journalists working in state capitals has sharply declined in recent years. ProPublica is expanding its Local Reporting Network, focusing on accountability journalism on state politics.
ProPublica will pay the salary, and an allowance for benefits, for reporters at seven partner news organisations who will spend one year tackling an investigative project in their states. Eligible newsrooms are invited to apply before the deadline.
