Nawaat is an independent collective journalism platform founded in April 2004. It has been blocked in Tunisia since January 13, 2011. Having received numerous awards, Nawaat focuses on many subjects from angles rarely addressed by the mainstream media. These subjects relate to democracy, transparency, good governance, justice, and freedoms and fundamental rights.
Nawaat produces information and substantive analysis and investigation through a variety of formats. Powered by nearly a thousand authors and a team of professional journalists and bloggers, Nawaat’s platform draws its content through direct contacts in the field and through contributions from activists, whistleblowers, and citizens involved in public affairs.
