Fundación Vorágine Periodismo Contracorriente

Vorágine is the only independent and digital media outlet in Colombia that is exclusively dedicated to investigate and produce in-depth stories related with human rights violations and corruption. It was born in Colombia in 2020.

Today, they are one of the most read digital media by Colombian opinion leaders and they have built a small (11 people) but solid newsroom recognized for its deep and rigorous investigations, that have obtained the most important journalistic awards in Colombia and other countries, like Switzerland and United States.

At Vorágine, they believe that only through independent journalism, that doesn’t rely on political or economic interests, it’s possible to guarantee citizen’s fundamental right to be informed. That’s why they promote the debate and public conversation about human rights and corruption to provide concrete tools to citizens, so that they are better informed and can make better decisions, which also strengthen democracy.
