Associação de Jornalismo Digital (Ajor)

Ajor was founded on May 3, 2021, International Press Freedom Day, with 30 associated organizations with the aim of strengthening digital journalism. Today, the association has more than 100 members. It is an employer association inserted in the context of an ecosystem in constant expansion and diversification, which structures its activities in three axes:

  • Professionalization and strengthening of associates
    Creation of support mechanisms for the professionalization, development and institutional security of associates through partnerships, projects, training initiatives and the organization of safe spaces for exchanging experiences.
  • Defense of journalism and democracy
    Monitoring of decisions that affect the exercise of professional journalism, implementation of legal and digital security measures and organization of events on topics related to the Association’s mission.
  • Focus on diversity
    Strengthening digital journalism initiatives outside the Rio-SP axis, peripheral journalism produced in large cities, and initiatives linked to historically invisible social groups, organization of training spaces and support for organizations to develop policies related to diversity.
