Africa Media Festival (25–26 February)

GFMD will continue its engagement during the Africa Media Festival, where Steering Committee members and Secretariat staff will be in attendance throughout the event.

On 26 February, Fiona Nzingo will lead an interactive workshop titled Beyond donors: Rethinking the funding mix for resilient media in Africa. The session will invite participants to map and compare their real-world funding landscapes — from ODA and philanthropy to technology platforms, private sector actors, and development banks. Through peer exchange and practical exercises, the workshop will examine how African media organisations can diversify revenue streams and build more resilient funding models.

GFMD Steering Committee members and Secretariat staff will also be available throughout these events and welcome the opportunity to connect with members and partners in Nairobi.

📩 GFMD members attending either event are warmly invited to contact Fiona Nzingo at fnzingo@gfmd.info to express interest in an informal members’ meet-up.
