  • Eligibility Criteria:
    To be eligible for the Visegrad Grants to support NGOs and Civil Society Organizations:

    – Any non-governmental, legal entity from any country can apply for support if they fulfil the partnership criteria. The Fund’s main targets are civil society organisations (CSOs), public educational, cultural, research and scientific institutions, municipalities, and local governments, but market actors, e.g., companies – especially innovation and start-up-related ones – are also eligible, if their project is of non-profit character.
    – Natural persons (individual citizens) or institutions of state administration directly subordinated to the state and its bodies, e.g., ministries, government and state agencies, embassies, etc. can neither apply nor be valid project partners.
    – Subjects that possess full or partial independence from state administration and possess self-governance (such as universities, academic, artistic, social, educational, cultural, research and/or science organisations, municipalities, and local governments, etc.) can apply for the Fund’s support.
    – Consortia of organisations of which 2 or more (depending on the grant scheme) are based in different Visegrad countries
    – All types of non-governmental, civil society organisations (CSOs); municipalities and local governments; schools, higher education institutions; research and scientific bodies and public institutions are eligible as lead partner (applicant) and partners in the consortia.
    – Market actors, e.g., companies – especially innovation and start-up related actors – with a legal entity are also eligible, but only if their Visegrad project is of non-profit character

Applications are now open for the Visegrad grants to support regional partnerships among NGOs and civil society organisations, public institutions and municipalities, private companies and non-profit organisations as well as education and research centres that contribute to cooperation in the Visegrad region.

Focus Areas

To apply for the Visegrad Grants, your project must address one of the objectives of the grant program from the seven focus areas eligible for funding.

  • Culture and Common Identity
  • Education and Capacity Building
  • Innovation, R&D, Entrepreneurship
  • Democratic Values and the Media
  • Public Policy and Institutional Partnership
  • Regional Development, Environment and Tourism
  • Social Development
Conditions
  • Projects must develop meaningful cooperation and active participation of organisations from at least 3 V4 countries
  • Bilateral cross-border cooperation of at least 2 organizations from 2 neighbouring V4 countries also qualify for support with projects taking place within a 40-km radius from the border and focusing on a local issue
  • Maximum duration of project implementation is 18 months
  • Grants can cover up to 100% of project budget with 15% for overheads
  • Projects must address at least one of the objectives of the grant program´s seven focus areas
