The Vienna Media Initiative is offering grants to support existing media companies and associations for producing high-quality projects that strengthen and develop journalistic offerings.

What the grant offers

The Vienna Media Initiative Grants will support your media project if it is based on a comprehensible project concept and makes a clear contribution to the further development of journalistic offerings in Vienna. Take advantage funding for:

• Personnel and travel expenses
• External services
• Material and equipment costs
• Investment costs

The program provides funding of up to €100,000 euros per project, with a minimum project size of 35,000 euros and a maximum duration of two years. Addtionally, A women’s bonus of €5,000 is awarded if your development proposal is managed by a woman with the necessary qualifications.

Applications can be submitted through this page. The last date to submit application is July 31, 2026. A fully completed online grant application will include:

• A certificate of authenticity
• A de minimis declaration
• The most recent annual financial statements or income and expenditure statement
• The CV of the project manager
