- Eligibility Criteria
– Journalists from all 46 countries of Europe as defined by the Council of Europe and Belarus and Russia are eligible to enter their work for the European Press Prize;
– Journalists working in Europe and journalists writing for a European media organisation or blog can submit their work;
– The work submitted must have a publication date between December 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024. - Type of Funding: Awards and Prizes

The European Press Prize, the Award for excellence in European journalism, is open for entries. Journalists from all 46 countries of the Council of Europe, Belarus and Russia, are invited to present their best work produced in the past year.
Categories
The European Press Prize is awarded in five different categories, and a special award:
- Investigative Reporting Award: For discovering and revealing facts, exposing hidden news to the public.
- Distinguished Reporting Award: For exceptional reporting, telling a story in the best possible way.
- Public Discourse Award: For a remarkable textual interpretation of the world they live in. (Formerly known as the Opinion Award).
- Innovation Award: For challenging the boundaries of journalism.
- Migration Journalism Award: For an acclaimed example of migration journalism.
- Special Award: The judges award a special prize for excellent journalism to one striking entry which defies categories and disciplines.
Funding Information
Each award is for 10,000 euros, to be spent wherever possible on a personal project that may, in turn, enrich the practice of journalism.
