Exile Hub, in partnership with Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT), is providing the Critical Voices Production Grant to media professionals from Myanmar.

The Critical Voices Production Grant supports all professional groups involved in media production, including: journalists, citizen journalists, photojournalists, filmmakers, bloggers, producers, illustrators, and more! Women, members of ethnic minority groups, and the LGBTQI+ community are particularly encouraged to apply.

3 Month Production Period

Its goal is to provide Myanmar media professionals with a platform to engage the public on pivotal subjects such as human rights, digital rights, gender equality, and freedom of expression. These projects can span various creative outputs, such as documentaries, photojournalist exhibitions, podcast channels, workshops and training, investigative journalism, and other impactful storytelling forms.

Grantees will be selected based on the timeliness and relevance of a project they propose to be completed in a 3-month period between July 25th and October 25th, 2024. Grantees must submit a final narrative report of the activities completed, including any links to online content, photos or videos, syllabus and feedback from coordinated trainings or workshops.

  • Grant amount: EUR 2,200
  • Application period: 5th July – 15th July 2024
  • Project period: 25th July – 25th October 2024
  • First payment: 50% of the grant, made between 25th to 30th July 2024
  • Second payment: Remaining 50%, made between 10th to 20th October, 2024, after submission of  a final narrative report by 30th September, 2024
  • Project outputs: Can include documentaries, photojournalist exhibitions, podcasts, workshops, investigative journalism, and more!
