Objectives
- Support counter-disinformation professionals facing legal, digital, or psychological threats.
- Enable journalists, fact-checkers, and researchers to continue their work safely and effectively.
- Promote a trustworthy and fact-based digital information space across Europe.
Project Themes
- Protection against legal intimidation (e.g., SLAPPs)
- Strengthening digital and physical security
- Access to psychological and wellbeing support
- Documentation of harassment and adversarial actions
- Emergency training and response
- Other urgent needs arising from targeted threats
Financial Support:
Through the SAFE: Support and Assistance Facility for Experts initiative, EMIF will provide:
- Up to €10,000 per request
- For activities planned over a maximum of three months
- Total fund allocation: €150,000 (pilot phase)
