Objectives
  • Support counter-disinformation professionals facing legal, digital, or psychological threats.
  • Enable journalists, fact-checkers, and researchers to continue their work safely and effectively.
  • Promote a trustworthy and fact-based digital information space across Europe.
Project Themes
  • Protection against legal intimidation (e.g., SLAPPs)
  • Strengthening digital and physical security
  • Access to psychological and wellbeing support
  • Documentation of harassment and adversarial actions
  • Emergency training and response
  • Other urgent needs arising from targeted threats

Financial Support:
Through the SAFE: Support and Assistance Facility for Experts initiative, EMIF will provide:

  • Up to €10,000 per request
  • For activities planned over a maximum of three months
  • Total fund allocation: €150,000 (pilot phase)
