The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for a regional project that strengthens media collaboration in the Europe and Eurasia region. DRL’s goal is to champion a strong independent media sector in the region that is resistant to powerful interests seeking to manipulate, isolate, or control the press.
Countries that are eligible for participation can include but are not limited to Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, and the South Caucasus region. Proposals must include a minimum of five countries that span multiple regions of Europe and Eurasia, and $1,200,000 of the budget must be allocated to Central European countries (Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovenia).
