However, applicants should demonstrate an understanding of NASW’s mission, which focuses on benefiting the field of science writing and supporting U.S.-based science writers.Projects should align with NASW’s mission and are expected to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.

Additional Information
  • Project Duration: Flexible based on the proposed project timeline.
  • Application Process: Submit proposals through Submittable by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, April 4, 2025.
  • Funding Guidelines:Grants will not cover indirect costs or expenses already incurred.
  • Only direct costs for the proposed project are allowable.
  • Timeline: Applicants will be notified of decisions in Spring 2025.
  • Expectations: Funded projects soliciting multiple voices (e.g., panels, events, or compilations) must ensure diversity in perspectives and backgrounds.
