Climate Tracker América Latina, with Oxfam’s support, is funding five original journalistic stories documenting how women across eight Latin American countries are leading climate action, energy access, territorial defence, and just-transition processes.
Eligibility
- Open to women journalists over 18 years old residing in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, or Brazil
- Open to both freelancers and journalists affiliated with media outlets, or those with prior experience in journalistic production, even if not currently working in journalism
- Journalism students may apply, provided they can demonstrate experience producing journalistic work
- Applicants residing outside the focus country must demonstrate that coverage is viable, with an adequate reporting plan
- Each participant may submit only one proposal, for a story that is original and has not been previously published
- Open exclusively to people who identify as women; men are not eligible
Requirements
- A proposal of maximum 300 words clearly defining the story’s focus, possible sources, and a preliminary reporting plan
- An indication of the chosen format (text, audio, or video)
- For text-format stories, an approximate length of 1,500–2,000 words is expected
