Journalism Partnerships Grant 2025

• Eligibility Criteria: Consortia comprises at least three partners from at least three countries participating in the Creative Europe Programme. Partners can include non-profit, public, and private media outlets (e.g., written/online press, radio/podcasts, TV) and organizations focusing on news media (e.g., media associations, NGOs, journalistic funds, training organizations). Natural persons (except self-employed individuals acting as sole traders) are ineligible.

Objectives

The European news media sector faces significant challenges, including financial sustainability pressures exacerbated by the digital shift. Through this call for proposals The European Union (EU) aims to support the development of sustainable and resilient European news media through cross-border collaborations.

• Media Transformation: Focus on creating innovative business models and ensuring financial sustainability.
• Trustworthy Reporting: Encourage cross-border journalistic collaborations to strengthen factual and ethical reporting.
• Audience Engagement: Develop community-building strategies and approaches to grow and diversify audiences.
• Sector Efficiency: Enhance workflows, technical standards, and processes across newsrooms.
• Innovative Formats: Explore new journalistic formats, syndication networks, and innovative production methods.
• Best Practices Exchange: Facilitate the sharing of techniques and expertise among professionals in the media sector.

• Info Session: An info session will be held on Thursday, 14 November 2024, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET. No registration is required, and recordings will be available on the call’s webpage.
• Creative Europe Desks: Desks in every participating country provide support, including partner searches, proposal preparation assistance, and guidance.
• Past Projects: Explore funded projects from 2021-2023 for inspiration. Grantees from the 2024 call will be listed on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal after signing their grants.

Financial Support: EUR 5.2 million / EUR 2 million per grant
