Grants to Support Good Governance (Cameroon)

• Eligibility Criteria:
  To be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
  – Be a legal person;
  – Have no profit motive;
  – Belong to one of the following categories of organisations: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, local authority; and
  – Be established in a Member State of the European Union or in a Member State of the European Economic Area or in the Republic of Cameroon.

• Target country: The Republic of Cameroon
• Application language: English or French

The European Commission (EC) is offering grants to support good governance and protect human rights in the penitentiary sector.

The overall objective of this call for proposals is to strengthen good governance and the protection of human rights in prisons and in the media. In both cases, the idea is to lay the foundations for a more structured and long-term action.

The two specific objectives of this call for proposals to support good governance and protect human rights are:

• Strengthening good governance of the penitentiary system with particular attention to detention centers
• Strengthening the professionalization of the media and the education of citizens in the media

It is requested that each proposal addressing one or other of the specific objectives cover simultaneously at least two of the priorities indicated for the specific objective concerned.
