• Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be non-profit organisations (local, regional or global) — legal persons in the non-profit sector. ungm.org
  Organisations must implement or be capable of implementing media-freedom and journalist-protection projects. ungm.org
  Registration on the UNGM portal is not mandatory for applying to this call.
• Type of Funding: Grant funding — through a call for partnerships under GMDF.
• Target Region: Open globally
• Application Language: English

• Strengthen legal safety and protection mechanisms for journalists. ungm.org
• Advance media freedom through investigative journalism and strategic litigation. ungm.org
• Contribute to breaking the cycle of impunity for crimes against journalists. ungm.org

Project Themes

• Rapid legal assistance and mechanisms to enhance journalists’ legal protection
• Investigative journalism aimed at reducing impunity for crimes against journalists
• Strategic litigation to promote media freedom and accountability

Financial Support:  Grants ranging from USD 15,000 to USD 50,000.
