- Eligibility Criteria: This grant is open to cross-border teams of at least two professional journalists and/or news outlets investigating environmental issues linked to Europe. Applicants must be legally residing in at least two different countries.

Objectives:
The Earth Investigations Programme aims to:
- Support cross-border investigative journalism on environmental issues affecting Europe.
- Uncover illegal, unreported, and unregulated environmental abuses.
- Enable comparative investigations into local environmental policies between different regions or cities.
- Provide funding for preliminary research in developing new investigative projects.
- Offer financial support for working time, logistics, travel, insurance, legal support, translations, technology access, and data sets.
- Provide mentorship for investigative focus and skill development.
Project Themes:
- Environmental investigations linked to Europe.
- Climate change, pollution, deforestation, biodiversity loss, and illegal environmental activities.
- Comparative environmental policy studies between regions/cities.
Financial Support: A total of €1,600,000 is available, with approximately €400,000 per application round.
Deadline: There are multiple application rounds in 2025:

- Following rounds: 24 July 2025 and 16 October 2025
