- Eligibility Criteria: Open to teams of investigative journalists (both starters and seniors) living in Belgium and the Netherlands. Each team must include at least one journalist from each country. When relevant to the story, additional team members from outside these countries may also be included.
- Type of Funding: Grants supporting local cross-border investigative journalism projects.
- Target Region: Belgium and the Netherlands (cross-border focus).
- Application Language: Applications must be submitted via the Journalismfund Europe application portal.
Objectives
To address the shortage of independent local journalism in Belgium and the Netherlands by funding cross-border investigative projects. The programme seeks to increase the availability of qualitative local news, raise citizens’ awareness of local and global issues, foster civic engagement, and strengthen democratic participation.
