FOX Fellowships

• Eligibility Criteria: Open to individuals and organizations based in Southern Africa (SADC region) working in the field of free expression, media freedom, and advocacy.
• Type of Funding: Fellowship grants supporting innovative advocacy, research, and creative initiatives that advance freedom of expression and media freedom in Southern Africa.
• Target Region: Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
• Application Language: English

Objectives

• Implement campaigns and calls to action promoting media freedom and expression rights.
• Conduct policy research and develop evidence-based policy recommendations.
• Create informational materials such as videos, podcasts, posters, or fact sheets.
• Design artistic expressions addressing freedom of expression issues.

• Media freedom and safety of journalists
• Countering disinformation and censorship
• Policy dialogue and legal frameworks for free expression
• Creative and community-led advocacy through art, media, and storytelling
• Youth and marginalized voices in media advocacy

Financial Support: Five (5) FOX Fellowships will be awarded, each providing €1,000 (~US$1,100).
