Financiamiento de investigaciones transnacionales sobre crimen organizado y corrupción (Funding for transnational investigations on organized crime and corruption)

IPYS is funding original transnational investigations by Latin American reporters into organised crime, political corruption and abuse of power. Four transnational grants will be awarded in this edition, and each selected project will receive funding of up to US$3,000, subject to committee evaluation and the submitted budget. Investigations must be carried out within a maximum of three months, between August and October 2026.

Eligibility

• Open to investigative journalists on the staff of Latin American media outlets.
• Open to independent (freelance) journalists, provided they attach a letter of commitment from an outlet guaranteeing publication if selected.
• Applicants must demonstrate recent activity in investigative journalism through previously published work.
• Individual and team applications are accepted, including collaborations across countries in the region; teams must designate one responsible person.
• Selection prioritises journalists who live or investigate in areas or countries with low media visibility of these issues.

Requirements

• Completed official digital application form (applicant details and project description).
• A detailed budget.
• A work schedule (maximum three months).
• A letter of publication commitment from the partner outlet.
