Exile Hub and Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) are together offering the Critical Voices Fellowship 2026. This call is inteded for exiled Myanmar media professionals who face threats for voicing critique and producing well-informed information. It offers them the necessary support to continue their valuable work in informing the public about what is happening in Myanmar.
This fellowship assists exiled Myanmar media professionals who are eager to enhance the role of critical journalism globally by connecting with an international network of journalists through the MiCT Global Fellowship.
What the fellowship offers
- Critical Voices Fellows gain access to various resources at Exile Hub facilities in Thailand, including media equipment, multimedia production studios, and workspaces.
- They also have full access to all trainings and workshops organized by Exile Hub, with psychosocial support, mentoring, technical guidance, and a monthly stipend for 3 months to help cover their living expenses.
- Additionally, Fellows have opportunities for collaboration in media production tasks, including writing, translating, verification, and publishing of Myanmar-related news.
- Critical Voices Fellows can also opt for a two-month residency at either our Chiang Mai Hub or Mae Sot Hub.
- The fellowship duration is 3 months, with Fellows who chose to reside at one of the Hub locations automatically transitioning to Critical Voices Fellows for the remaining month after completing their residency.
