The Climate Change Media Partnership brings journalists from low- and middle-income countries to attend and report on the UN climate negotiations (COP31) in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9–20 November 2026, with training, mentorship and on-the-ground editorial support.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a professional journalist from or representing an established media house and reporting from an eligible country on the published list (low- and middle-income countries).
  • The applicant must not have attended a UNFCCC climate COP before in person, either self-funded or as part of a fellowship.
  • Applicants must be available and willing to travel to Antalya, Türkiye, to attend the full two weeks of COP31 in person.
  • Applicants must have a good command of the English language.
  • Applicants must have previous experience reporting on climate change issues and clearly indicate the kinds of stories they might pursue during the conference.
  • Freelancers are welcome to apply but must provide a signed letter of support from a media outlet for which they intend to report, committing to publish the stories produced.

Requirements

  • An up-to-date CV.
  • A video of no more than two minutes explaining the planned COP31 reporting.
  • A letter of support from an editor/producer/supervisor confirming publication or broadcast.
  • A minimum of three recent climate-related journalistic work samples published between 15 May 2025 and 15 June 2026.
