  • Eligibility Criteria: Your project must fit at least one of the following focus areas:
    – Community storytelling;
    – Community-centered news and information;
    – Using archives for building community power;
    – Narrative shift and media for movement building (disrupting systemic oppression including but not limited to: white supremacy, colonialism, zionism, patriarchy, transphobia, homophobia, capitalism, ableism, etc.);
    – All applicants must be a 501(c)3 or an organization with a fiscal sponsor. If you don’t have a fiscal sponsor, you may still apply as long as you secure a fiscal sponsor before funds are disbursed. We are unable to make grants to applicants without a fiscal sponsor;
    – Organisations must have annual operating budgets under $1 million;
    – Previous Community Voices grantees are welcome to apply;
    – They will accept only one proposal per organisation, and they accept both new and established projects.

The Independence Public Media Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Community Voices Fund to support creative, community-centered media and media-making across Greater Philadelphia.

The Community Voices Fund is an open call for 501(c)3 nonprofits or fiscally-sponsored organisations/projects based in:

  • Pennsylvania: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery counties.
  • New Jersey: Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties.
  • Delaware: New Castle County.
Funding Information
  • The Community Voices Fund will award one-year project grants within the range of $10,000 to $50,000.
  • They will award a total of $800,000 in grants. These are non-renewable one-year project grants. The Community Voices Fund does not award general operating grants.
