Younger generations are the driving force of change in any country and they have the creativity and capacity to make this change happen on multiple levels. UNESCO has engaged with Youth to create change, and is committed to empowering them by providing them with the right tools to be capable of making informed decisions. Facilitating the creation of a space that fosters youth-to-youth collaboration and intergenerational learning, and increases the visibility of youth action and work of young change-makers is at the core of UNESCO’s activities worldwide. In Lebanon, UNESCO Beirut office is committed to helping younger generations counter disinformation and hate speech in addition to promoting media and information literacy plus access to information especially during elections time.

UNESCO is pleased to announce a call for proposals to help younger generations counter disinformation and hate speech and promote media and information literacy plus access to information, especially during elections. UNESCO Beirut office would like to spread awareness among young generations and increase their capacities on combating hate speech and disinformation through the production of a social media section for the youth and by the youth.

This activity is made possible by the Government of Netherlands, within its support to UNESCO’s flagship initiative LiBeirut.
