The Fonds pour le journalisme supports investigation and major reporting in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB). It allows the realization of any work presenting a real added value and encourages the emergence of new journalistic formats. Financial assistance is provided directly to journalists. The Fund is managed by the Association of Professional Journalists (AJP) and financed by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB).

The Fund’s grants are used to support investigative projects or major reports. The journalist must prove that without the help of the Fund, the project could not be realized, due to lack of time or human or material resources. The Fund is not a producer or co-producer of stories, but by providing assistance, it gives the necessary impetus to quality journalistic work. All topics can be investigated. Big research works (e.g.: an investigation, a data work, an exclusive investigation, a detailed portrait, a decoding…) but also returns on a recurrent news (e.g.: actions for the climate, social movements…) or foreseeable (e.g.: elections, anniversaries…).  All news media in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, represented by at least one professional journalist, can broadcast the subjects supported by the Fund. The projects submitted to the jury are intended for press agencies, the photographic press, the daily written press and magazines, radio, television or digital information media.
