The European Artificial Intelligence & Society Fund is offering grants of up to €150,000 for organisations across Europe to build the narrative power of communities and develop and test narrative strategies around three areas where AI’s impacts are most keenly felt: data centres, jobs and young people’s lives. Selected organisations will join a learning programme, sharing experiences from different countries and issues, finding commonalities and supporting each other.
Eligibility
- ONLY open to organisations in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
- As this is a relatively short programme, they want to ensure organisations we fund already have prior experience of working on narratives. They want to know if the work you propose seems feasible given your skills, experience and capacity with the time and money available.
- If your organisation will be receiving grant funding in 2027 from the European AI & Society Fund, you will not be able to apply for a Building Narrative Power grant.
Requirements
- Focus on one of the narrative strategy themes: Data centres powering AI, AI and young people and AI and jobs
- you can only submit one project proposal.
- Successful first-stage applications are asked to submit detailed proposal by 19 October
- Grant start date is February 2027
- Granted projects should develop narrative frames and test out messaging with specific audiences around a particular goal for change. It’s up to you to decide what the steps to achieve that goal are, and what the outcomes could be.
