Audience-Engaged Journalism Grants

• Eligibility Criteria: Media outlets based in the following Balkan and Visegrad countries are eligible to apply: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Poland, Serbia, and Slovakia.
  Stories focusing on marginalized communities, youth, and women are strongly encouraged. Applications must center around underreported issues and demonstrate a commitment to engaging audiences throughout the journalistic process.

• Strengthen audience-engaged journalism practices.
• Support reporting on underreported issues and marginalized communities.
• Foster trust between media outlets and their communities.
• Build newsroom capacity in audience engagement strategies and tools.

Project Themes

• Journalism addressing underreported and socially significant issues.
• Engagement of marginalized groups, including youth and women.
• Cross-border collaborations on shared regional challenges.
• Use of digital tools to enhance community participation and data analysis.

Financial Support:

• Individual story grants of up to €4,000
• Cross-border story grants of up to €8,000
