2025 Lincoln prize for Journalism

• Eligibility Criteria Open to individual journalists or teams from Latin America. In the case of teams, one group coordinator must be designated. Submissions must consist of one or more journalistic pieces originally published between January 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025 in any media format: print, digital, or audiovisual. Previously awarded journalists cannot submit the same work for which they were the lead reporter but may participate in other teams. Only works published in media outlets are accepted. Unpublished articles, books, academic papers, or technical reports are not eligible. Participants must agree to the publication of their names and submitted work by the Lincoln Institute (with appropriate copyright credit). Each submission must have its own application form, even if submitted by the same author.

Objectives

• Promote high-quality journalism on urban policy, sustainable development, and climate change.
• Recognize investigative reporting that informs the public about land policy, water management, and responsible governance.
• Support storytelling that addresses social, economic, and environmental challenges in Latin American cities and communities.

Project Themes

Submissions must focus on at least one of the following impact areas of the Lincoln Institute:

• Land and Water: Responsible land and water resource management for a livable future.
• Land and Communities: Equitable allocation of land resources to support prosperous communities.
• Land and Fiscal Systems: Public goods and services delivered through effective land use planning and fiscal policy.

Financial Support:
First Prize: $3,000 USD
Second Prize: $2,000 USD
Third Prize: $1,000 USD
