YOJO (Young Journalists) – iMEdD’s bold, non-profit newsroom – is looking for the next generation of reporters to shape the future of independent journalism. This 1- or 2-year paid placement in Athens offers recent graduates and final-year students the chance to produce impactful, innovative journalism, with opportunities for field assignments in Greece and abroad.

Objectives

Provide hands-on experience in political, investigative, international, and conflict reporting.
Offer mentorship from industry-leading journalists.
Equip participants with cutting-edge skills in video-first journalism, immersive storytelling (AR, VR, XR), and data journalism.
Build participants’ portfolios through published work across multiple platforms.
Foster a global network of young journalists committed to ethical, impactful journalism.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Recent graduate (within the last 18 months, since October 2023) or final-year student from any country.
  • Fluent in English (Greek is a plus but not required).
  • No prior newsroom experience required – strong curiosity and commitment to ethical journalism is essential.
  • Willingness to relocate to Athens, Greece.
