Over the past few years, WHAT TO FIX has pioneered a range of methodologies and unique resources and datasets to support research on social media monetisation and investigations into how social platforms’ monetisation systems can contribute to the spread of inauthentic, harmful, misleading and abusive content and behaviour.
They are now inviting expressions of interest from journalists, fact-checkers, researchers, academics, investigators, litigators, regulators and other public-interest actors interested in incorporating monetisation evidence into their work.
Details
- Participants will learn how creators, publishers, and other actors generate revenue from major platforms, how social media monetization systems operate, how platforms decide who can / cannot monetize content on their platforms, in theory and in practice, how to investigate monetization relationships and revenue-sharing agreements and more
- The Masterclass will also provide opportunities for peer learning and collaboration and for participants to discuss and get support on their own research and investigations.
- WHAT TO FIX is in the process of confirming grant funding to be able to offer this Masterclass free of charge to participants.
