Reporting on an Unfolding Crisis: Russia-Ukraine

Status: Closed

Organisation: International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ)

Deadline: 24/02/2022

From trending TikTok clips to threats of invasion, the Russia-Ukraine crisis is – in the words of U.K. Armed Forces Minister James Heappey – the closest Europe has been to war for 70 years.

In this webinar, ICFJ will be hosting two journalists actively covering the unfolding crisis. Ostap Yarysh is an international journalist at the Ukrainian service of Voice of America based in Washington, D.C. Tom Mutch is a New Zealand-born, London-based journalist who has written for The Daily Beast, BylineTimes and openDemocracy, covering crime and conflict.

These ongoing webinars are part of the ICFJ Pamela Howard Forum for Global Crisis Reporting launched in partnership with ICFJ’s International Journalists’ Network (IJNet).

Date/Time: Thursday, February 24, 2022; 10:30am EST, 3:30pm GMT
