Reflective Journalism Project: ICE Melts in Summer

Status: Open

Organisation: Prism

Deadline: 17/05/2026

Location: Online (live)

Are you a writer, editor, or organizer committed to justice who wants to align your work with liberation movements? Are you interested in telling stories related to immigration, migrant justice, and community resistance efforts? Do you want to be part of a growing coalition of people who use journalism as a tool for liberation?

Prism is organising movement journalism training on immigration justice called the Reflective Journalism Project: ICE Melts in Summer. The June cohort, ICE Melts in Summer is an award-winning, four-part live training workshop and professional development program about how to write, build, and publish an accurate narrative that supports movements for justice. Each session will take place on Wednesdays from 12:00-1:30pm PT/3:00-4:30pm ET beginning June 3rd through June 24th.

Prism notes that the Trump administration is capitalizing on a human rights crisis that has been decades in the making with bipartisan support. While the right spews ultranationalist, white supremacist rhetoric, Democrats have also moved rightward and abandoned immigrants across the United States.
