Stiftelsen Fritt Ord is announcing a call for applications for the Norwegian Journalism Program which is open to journalists and editorial teams.

The Norwegian Journalism Program announcement is thematically open. Journalists, editors, and editorial teams are free to design their project proposals regarding theme selection and content. The foundation’s aim is to help enable projects that can become important in the social debate and for as many citizens as possible.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Norwegian Journalism Program:

  • The projects should target the general public. Applicants can use any publishing platform and may be multimedia. All free, editor-managed publications with Norwegian media users as their target audience are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants can be editorial offices or individuals, but all support must be used by named individuals. They are open to new forms of collaboration between multiple editorial offices or journalistic environments, and freelancers with publishing agreements are especially welcome to apply.
  • They want to support as much as possible the specific work with content to be published, and support to a lesser extent operating costs, technical development projects, internal skills development and the purchase of equipment.
