In the frameworks of its “Support to Democratic Reforms in Jordan” project funded by the EU, Canal France International (CFI) is pleased to invite politically active youth to benefit from a Media training of youth workshop.
Training Structure
- First training (5 days): How to package messages – articulating messages in ways that will engage peers and giving interviews, answering media questions.
- Second training (5 days): Engaging in new forms of media contents to balance traditional media and how to make the most of social networks.
Beneficiaries of the Workshop
- Politically active youth who are interested in using the media as a tool for political influence and bigger outreach.
- Priority might be given to the School of Politics alumni, young MP candidates, interested young people from media departments in Jordanian universities and other youth engaged at local/community level.
- Women, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
- Under the project EU support to democratic reforms, CFI will implement a series of media activities including capacity-building, awareness campaigns and grant schemes for media initiatives, in order to use media as a booster to encourage democratic participation, in particular of women and youth, and push civic content related to the Elections.
- The selected politically active youth will benefit from a 10 days Media training of youth workshop (5 days for each thematic with a break between each training). The workshop will take place in August 2024.
- Please note that a venue will be provided for participants outside Amman of residence to attend the training session in Amman.
- These sessions, led by experienced trainers and coaches, will aim to build the capacity of youth on addressing the media, communicate effectively, advance their political and social engagement, especially through focusing on topics of interest, whether on the local or national levels.
- Through the media training of youth, participating youth will be equipped with skills and capacities to better address the media and get their messages out, promote issue of interest for them to serve their local communities and act as role models
- The workshops will be based on theory but also on practical exercises, sharing of best practices and case studies.
- The workshop will be divided in two trainings of 5-days each (with a break between each workshop).
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this training program, you must:
- Be a politically active youth based inside Jordan – Youth, particularly women, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
- Be from the School of Politics alumni, young MP candidates, from media departments in Jordanian universities or engaged at local/community level.
- Have an experience or an interest in political issues in Jordan.
- Be available to attend the applicable training sessions.
- Have the language proficiency in Arabic to attend the training.
