Journalists in Ukraine: The Latest on the Battle Against Disinformation

Status: Closed

Organisation: Internews Network and Internews Europe

Deadline: 13/04/2022

Location: Online

The invasion of Ukraine has turned journalists into war correspondents at extreme physical risk and placed them on the frontlines of the battle against disinformation. Invading forces are blowing up broadcast towers, killing and kidnapping reporters, and depriving the Ukrainian people of trustworthy information when they need it most.

On April 13 at 18:00 CET, join Internews for a conversation on the latest developments with Ukrainian journalist and nonprofit leader Galyna Petrenko. As part of their Turn the Mic Around conversation series, Internews President Jeanne Bourgault will interview her about the current state of independent media in Ukraine, how journalists are continuing to report, and how media outlets are fighting back against disinformation. Galyna is a seasoned journalist, an expert on countering disinformation and currently directs the Ukrainian nonprofit Detector Media.
