Research study to understand the current needs of independent media

Status: Closed

Organisation: Untitled

Deadline: 30/10/2022

Location: Online

Independent media is under unprecedented pressure. Internews is conducting research led by Dr Courtney Radsch and funded by the U.S. State Department about the constraints and challenges faced by the sector globally.

Aim of the study: To inform donors and the media assistance community about how they can deliver better, more effective, and sustainable support in some of the most challenging contexts where traditional media development models may no longer suffice. It will result in a White Paper published early in 2023.

Understanding and Responding to Global Emerging News Threats (URGENT): As part of this research, a survey has been developed to understand how the needs of journalists and media organisations are changing. Internews is committed to ensuring that the perspectives and experiences of as many people as possible are reflected in the findings and recommendations, and would be grateful for your time in completing the survey.

Languages: It is available in Arabic, French, English, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian. Please use the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the page to select your preferred language

Time: It will take approximately 20 minutes.

Deadline: Sunday 30 October.
