Future Newsrooms Study

Status: Open

Organisation: WAN-IFRA

Deadline: 10/04/2026

Location: Online

WAN-IFRA, in partnership with FT Strategies, invites you to take part in the Future Newsrooms Study by sharing your perspective in a global survey focused on how newsrooms are adapting to structural change.

At a time when editorial teams are integrating AI, responding to audience fragmentation and managing significant cost pressures, your input has never been more critical.

Thematics

The Future Newsrooms Study will provide a clear, evidence-based picture of how editorial leaders like you are preparing their organisations for the years ahead. The research will examine:

  • How newsroom strategy is defined and executed
  • How AI and automation are being integrated into workflows
  • How organisational structures are evolving in response to audience needs
  • Where editorial investment priorities are shifting
  • Which skills and capabilities will define successful newsrooms

The researchers will present the findings in a flagship co-branded report, which Arc XP will support. WAN-IFRA will launch the report at the WAN-IFRA 77th World News Media Congress in Marseille in June 2026. The study will provide practical frameworks and global benchmarks to support newsroom leaders navigating transformation.

The survey is open to all journalists and can be taken here till April 10, 2026. For more information, please visit this page.
