European News Media Forum

Following a first dialogue held in March 2021 on the safety of journalists, the European Commission is organising the second edition of the European News Media Forum on Monday 29 November 2021.

Prominent representatives from local, regional and national news media organisations and a variety of stakeholders will gather to discuss the industrial transformation the sector is undergoing. What are the latest innovations in the sector? What revenue models work in 2021? How to reach new and niche audiences? How are newsrooms producing new content and new formats?

These are just a few of the questions to be addressed – questions that are crucial for the future of the European news media industry, as well as for media freedom and pluralism. The event will be a hybrid from Brussels, featuring short presentations and fireside chats.
