The Dag Hammarskjöld Journalism Fellowship offers early-career journalists from developing countries the opportunity to report from the United Nations in New York during the General Assembly session. The fellowship provides unparalleled access to global decision-makers and international policy discussions, equipping journalists with firsthand insights into diplomatic processes and international affairs.

Objectives
  • Support journalists from developing countries in covering international affairs and UN-related topics.
  • Provide fellows with direct exposure to global policy discussions, enhancing their professional growth and journalistic expertise.
  • Encourage balanced and well-informed reporting on key global issues, fostering a more inclusive and representative international media landscape.
  • Offer networking opportunities with UN officials, diplomats, and fellow journalists.
Eligibility
  • Open to early-career journalists from developing countries.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in international affairs and UN-related reporting.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Applications from Ghana, Namibia, and Kashmir will not be accepted in 2025.
