The German taz Panter Foundation is seeking applications for its climate journalism workshop to support women in reporting about climate change.
The Foundation offers a long-term series of workshops for 25 female journalists from the Middle East and North Africa.

- The seminars include a kick-off workshop in the region, followed by a journalistic exchange in Berlin in the summer of 2026 for the winners of the Green Panter Award.
Over a period of two years, a network of 25 experienced women journalists from the Middle East and North Africa is formed to:
- receive training in environmental journalism
- facilitate exchange with international environmental experts
- work on solution-oriented environmental issues across national boundaries
- publish nationally and internationally on environmental topics
- honour outstanding journalistic results of the seminar by the Green Panter Award
- 25 female journalists will be invited to exchange their experiences and increase their professionalism.
- The seminar will take place mainly online. There will be physical kick-off-meeting in the region plus a stay Berlin in summer 2026 for the 15 winners of the Green Panter Award. In Berlin their guests will meet other journalists, politicians, public stakeholders and experts. The 15 winners of the Green Panter Award will get to know the German media landscape, they can enlarge their knowledge about Germanys culture and politics and will have the chance to network.
Further Information
The workshop is free of charge. Expenses with regard to the kick-off meeting as well as for the visit of Berlin for the winners of the Green Panter Award (flight, hotel, meals) will be paid by taz Panter Foundation.
Requirements for participation
To participate in the climate journalism workshop, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Journalistic experience in print, online, radio, or TV outlets
- Access to internet (computer or notebook, smartphone)
- Working language will be Arabic, with simultaneous translation to/from English. At least passive English would be fine. There will be no translation into Kurdish
- Journalists without international experience are highly welcome
