The Antenna Foundation Nepal (AFN) calls all social media influencers across Nepal to participate in a three-day Citizen Journalism Workshop to be held on 7-9 January 2025 at Kathmandu.

Through this application, they intend to train 20 content producers on journalism skills and tools about fact-checking and environmental issues. This application call has been done under the “Media for Inclusive Green Growth (MIGG)” project implemented by Antenna Foundation Nepal (AFN) in partnership with Internews Earth Journalism Network (EJN) and funded by the European Union (EU).

This three-day Citizen Journalism Workshop will enhance capacity of content producers in fact-checking and journalism skills. Alongside, the workshop also aims to harness the power of media influencers to produce credible and informative content on environmental issues and challenges.

Selection Criteria

20 Content producers will be selected by the Antenna Foundation Nepal (AFN) and Internews EJN team, based on the following criteria:

  • Audience reach of social media content
  • (25K+ followers/subscribers)
  • Diversity in their contents/views in their contents
  • Social/travel content
  • Educative
  • Informative
  • Podcaster
About the workshop
  • Date: 7-9 January 2025
  • Type: Residential
  • Venue: Subject to decide (will be informed to selected candidates)
  • Participants: 20 (limited seats)

After receiving the training, participants will receive a training certificate, and AFN assumes that trainees will produce and share one audio testimonial from each participant on environmental issues which will be used/broadcast in upcoming radio program production.
