The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has announced a call for proposals to select partners (Civil Society Organizations) with a view to supporting the efforts of the Malian authorities, the populations, and the media with a view to establishing a conducive framework for Elections, Peaceful, Credible and Fair.

This call for proposals procedure is particularly linked to the UNDP/PAREM project “Prevention of electoral violence and strengthening of democratic governance in Mali”. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to strengthening national capacities in the prevention of electoral violence through an improvement in the environment for political dialogue as well as the capacity to identify and address the risks of electoral violence in a pre-emptive manner.
Objectives
Overall objective(s): prevention of electoral violence and democratic governance through the creation of a peaceful social environment in the regions, districts, circles and communes of Mali
Specific objectives: To achieve this overall objective, CSOs must achieve the following specific objectives:
- Strengthen dialogue and consultation between CSOs, the media, electoral administration and security forces to encourage and guarantee confidence during the elections;
- Contribute to the establishment of a consensual framework for monitoring the risks of conflict and violence in the electoral process in Mali;
- Support the development and development of a global framework for response modalities to threats of election-related violence during electoral periods allowing the documentation and perception of their impact on the ground;
- Train the CSOs, political parties signatories to the code of good conduct, electoral security actors as well as administrative authorities in order to strengthen their specific role of conflict prevention and mediation during electoral processes;
- Carry out awareness campaigns and popularization of information messages on the electoral process by CSOs and especially the media.
