A special issue of the Media Studies journal on Generative AI and Its Structural Implications for News Media, Political Communication, and Journalism Education invites cross-disciplinary contributions that critically examine the structural implications of generative AI for news media, political communication, and journalism education. Editors of the special issue particularly welcome theoretical, empirical, and methodological work that situates generative AI within broader political, economic, regulatory, and educational contexts, and that assesses both its democratic potential and its risks. The special issue follows the 17th Dubrovnik Media Days conference, and welcomes (but is not limited to) expanded and revised conference papers.
