The Towards Development of Mediatization Research series continues with its ninth edition, Youth, Sports, and Media. This workshop focuses on the intersections between youth, sport, and media, with particular attention to emerging technologies, shifting consumption patterns, and issues of identity, community, and commercialization.
Renowned mediatization scholar Michael Skey (Loughborough University) will lead the session, continuing the tradition of expert-led workshops that have previously featured leading international scholars such as Göran Bolin, Johan Fornäs, Andreas Hepp, Mark Deuze, and Carlos A. Scolari.

- E-sports and their influence on young audiences
- The mediatization of physical activity and recreation
- Authenticity, identity, and media representation in youth sports culture
- New sports formats tailored to young consumers
- Research methods and theoretical perspectives on sport and mediatization
