The Global Investigative Journalism Conference (GIJC) 2025 invites submissions of abstracts (maximum 300 words) for short papers and panel presentations. Selected research papers will be presented at the conference, taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, from November 20 – 24, 2025.
Objectives
- Showcase research on investigative journalism, data journalism, and media innovations.
- Explore challenges and solutions in investigative reporting across different regions and cultures.
- Highlight successful methodologies in teaching, collaboration, and business models for investigative journalism.
- Examine the role of emerging technologies like AI and machine learning in investigative journalism.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to journalists, researchers, and media professionals conducting original research on investigative journalism.
- Papers must not have been published or presented at a prior conference.
